Question: Is there a petty crime problem in Seville? Do you have to be on guard at the street cafes etc.?
Answer: I have not had a problem with any crime here in Seville after living here for one month. Yes you should be cautious about your things when walking on the street and sitting down at a restaurant. For example do not have big bags that are easy to reach into. Also don’t leave your wallet or phone sitting on the table, and don’t place your bag hanging on the back of your chair. If you follow these guidelines I don’t think you’ll have any problems. There is no need to be overly protective of your things. Enjoy your time in Seville!
